George H. W. Bush Gallery
On Tuesday morning, November 2, reunion attendees underwent a private tour of the National Museum of the Pacific War. Class member, General Michael W. Hagee, USMC (Retired), who is the President and CEO of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation, provided an introduction and overview of the museum. The George H. W. Bush Gallery contains numerous artifacts, including one of the five miniature Japanese submarines that attacked Pearl Harbor, as well the shell of one of the ten more powerful "Fat Boy" plutonium bombs, the first of which was dropped on Nagasaki. It also has a B-25 Mitchell bomber, the bomber launched from the USS Hornet for the Doolittle Raid over Tokyo on April 18, 1942.
